Atelier Barnard

The craft

Set by hand, under the microscope.

Atelier Barnard is a working studio. Everything here is made and set at the bench by a master setter with twenty years at the work.

Micro pavé and hand setting

Micro setting is the precise placement of small diamonds, often half a millimetre across, under magnification. Each stone is seated into the metal by hand, surrounded by tiny beads of gold or platinum that hold it in place.

Done well, the result is a sheet of light that looks like one continuous surface. Done badly, stones lean, beads sit unevenly, and the piece reads cheap from across the room.

Stones, sourced honestly

Every diamond used in the atelier is fully traceable, with GIA, HRD or equivalent paperwork. If you have a stone you want to use, inherited or bought elsewhere, bring it.

Metal and finishing

Platinum, 18ct yellow gold, 18ct rose gold, 18ct white gold. Hallmarked according to Spanish and Balearic standards, and finished by hand in the details most people never see first.

Inside-of-shank polish. Gallery work. The radius of every edge that touches skin. All of it is the reason the piece still feels right thirty years from now.

Begin a commission

Every piece begins with a conversation.

Most commissions start with a quiet meeting at the workshop on Carrer de Sant Miquel, or a video call. There is no obligation — only an honest assessment of what you have in mind, what it should cost, and what it will take to make it well.
